Emerging Europe

Mention Emerging Europe, and most people think of Bulgaria, where prices on the Black Sea coast (and more recently in the mountains) have been increasing sharply as increasing number of Britons and other foreigners have flocked to invest. As you will see in the book, though, it pays to do careful research before buying. There are plenty of other places in the region to put your money, however: Cyprus, for example, is undergoing a boom of its own, helped by falling interest rates, a liberal tax system and easily available mortgages. It also has a much longer rental season. Croatia and Slovenia are increasingly popular for investors, as well as being great places to go on holiday. Those looking for pure investment should check out Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, where property prices have been growing at more than 20% a year. Off-plan developments there can be especially attractive. Romania is booming, too, although a bit more speculative.

If you want to know more, you’ve got to buy the book…
